My beautiful niece Lydia and her 1st birthday cake.
The butterflies were fun to make,
and edible too.
Happy Birthday, Nancy! Triple chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Cream
syrup, thinly torted and
filled with layers of white chocolate pastry cream, iced in chocolate
buttercream, and covered with
Satin Ice fondant. The cake was airbrushed with a combination of super pearl and
sparkle dust.
Happy Birthday, Arbia! Two tiers were White Almond Sour Cream cake with
strawberry filling,
and one tier was milk chocolate. Iced in buttercream and covered with
Satin Ice fondant. All
accents are fondant, including the bow. Airbrushed with Sparkle Dust.
Happy Birthday, Alexis! White Almond Sour Cream cake with strawberry
filling, iced in buttercream
and covered in Satin Ice fondant. The tiara is made entirely of sugar,
which the birthday girl ate! The
cake was airbrushed with Sparkle Dust.
Happy Birthday, Kathy! Christian Reese Lassen's gorgeous artwork was
printed in edible images and
placed on the cake. Is there anything more beautiful than marine art?
Congratulations, Rachel! This special cake was for a very special
little girl, who was able to place
her horses in the corral at her party. Triple chocolate fudge cake, iced
in rich chocolate buttercream
and covered in Satin Ice fondant. The horses and corral railing were
plastic toys. Everything else is edible!
I call these "Fairy Pops." They are homemade sugar cookies with each
fairy piped by hand out of sugar icing.
The plan was to put them in the cake (pictured below) as I had done with fondant
butterflies on lollypop sticks
(pictured above), but the fairies were substantially heavier because the fairy
wings were cookies. So, I made a
pretty decorative base for the top-heavy fairies. I heard they were the
hit of the party and all the little girls got
their own fairy cookie to devour!
Happy Birthday, Laney!
Happy Birthday, Conner & Caiden! Sculpted chocolate fudge cake, iced in
buttercream and covered in
Satin Ice fondant. Edible images of the twins were placed in the fire
truck windows. All accents are fondant,
except for ladders, which are piped in sugar icing. The quarter-sheet cake
with the boys' picture printed in
an edible image was for the adults!
